Rain gardens are planted in shallow depressions with wild flowers and deep-rooted native vegetation that help the ground absorb and mitigate rainwater. They are typically connected to downspouts, scuppers or exterior roof drains. At Hanging Gardens we have designed a rain garden media that has the capability to absorb more water than native soils by allowing it to percolate quicker through our mix. Our rain garden media will also provide an adequate anchor for native plant root systems in order for the plants, roots, and media to cleanse and purify storm water as it soaks into the ground.
